Framework for information literacy in Higher education
his framework for information literacy in higher education focuses in six threshold concepts which its idea is to serve as a "passageways or portals to enlarged understanding or ways of thinking of practicing within a discipline."
This framework for information literacy in higher education has six threshold concepts which are as follows: Authority is constructed and contextual, Information creation as a process, Information has value, research as inquiry, searching as strategic exploration however my discussion will focus on scholarship as conversation which is also one of the six threshold concepts for the information literacy in higher education framework.
Scholarship as conversation refers to the idea of sustained discourse within a community of scholars, researchers, or professionals with new insights and discoveries occurring over time as a result of competing perspective and interpretations. My understating of this concept is that as a student i will embark on a research in a aim of finding answers for the specific problem that i may have, so i will use as many books which have been written by different authors on that specific subject from those books they would of cited some other authors or journals which have be written on that specific subject. In that way one is taking part in a conversation or debate on a specific matter! hence its reffed to as scholarship as conversation.
One of the examples which i can think of hand is that at the moment i am busy doing my research proposal on the provision of information literacy programs in public libraries, so i had to go read up on any articles which have been written about information literacy in public libraries and from the articles I got there were works which were cited which I than read and put in my proposal in my literature review so in that way i took part in a scholarly conversation..
This concept can be enhanced by learners by the researcher in his on her conclusion suggesting that further research needs to be done, so that they may see that its not the end more finding can be found which can also give more meet to the subject.

As a student you do have a good understanding of this Frame - that when you do research, there is no single easy answer to a question. There are various viewpoints on the topic and that in itself, constitutes the "conversation". But you only add to the conversation when you publish, or as a student when you discuss the topic sand debate with others perhaps on online forums. We will discuss this in more detail in class.
